Women make up 45% of the gaming community and 0% of the protagonists of the 25 biggest games of the year.

"Yes, but that’s still a minority! If more women played video games, there would be more reason to have female protagonists!"

Men make up 35% of the cinema audience and 84% of the protagonists of the 25 biggest movies of the year.

Denmark was the first country in the world to grant legal recognition to same-sex unions.

So this:

Actually isn’t that far off (yes, 1845 is too early even for Denmark but it makes sense if the film in any way is supposed to reflect Denmark)

THANK YOU FELLOW DANE. I LOVE YOU.

Except…I’m pretty sure Frozen was set in Arendelle.

Which…is…not…a…real…place.

I tend to try not to get into these Frozen debates, but this argument really annoys me.

Please stop acting like made-up countries in Disney movies need to be historically accurate.  Thank you and good night.

don’t sell yourself short, Denmark, you may not have a diverse racial composition and Sami schmami, but at least your snowmen talk. Amirite people?

Actually I, like, don’t give a single crap if the under-representation in Frozen is historically accurate??

SEEING DIVERSE CASTS MAKES CHILDREN FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE WITH THEIR IDENTITY. SO HAVE DIVERSE CASTS. Like this conversation should not need to extend beyond that. The kids watching Disney deserve to see characters like them. Denying them this - whether it’s historically accurate or not - is kinda fucked up.

I have no horse in this race, really - The Lion King was the last Disney film I saw - but a) what the last commenter said, and b) the argument about historical accuracy and realism falls short when your films are about FAIRY TALE CHARACTERS. I’m pretty sure the ship sailed on accuracy when you made the movie about someone who had the power to freeze shit.

So maybe while your adding magical powers … You could consider diversity too.

Reblogged for those last couple of comments.

As another dane: please shut it OP. It’s a fucking Disney film. Snowmen don’t talk, you can’t have ice powers (dammit) AND JUST BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL STORY CAME FROM DENMARK DOES NOT MEAN THIS STORY HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH DENMARK. And even if it did, diversity is more important.
